Five Card Stud Strategy
Five Card Stud consists of probably the most straight forward strategy, while being quite hard to make money quickly. Since it is five cards down flat, compounded with the fact that you can see most of your opponents hand, your chances of winning are quite easy to work out. On the other hand it also means that you'll have a lot more 'average' hands that you'll want to fold on so you have to wait longer between winning the pot. Add to this the fact that your fate is almost always determined by the flip of the last card and you can see that only over a long term of playing will you make money in five card stud.
The last thing to note about five card stud is it can be quite tricky to master. Knowing when you can bluff and how other players will react comes with much experience. The trick is to use the cards your opponent 'can' see to your
advantage.
