The general play of poker is quite simple. Through one means or another each player comes up with a hand of five cards. How those five cards are achieved, is defined by the poker variant being played. The winner is decided based on who has the best hand , which is selected from a preset list of which hand is best. During the game at various times the players will bet on whether they will win or not and all bets are placed in a common pool called the pot. The winner gets rewarded with all money from the pot (except in some variants).
